RONI 23

With over 25 years of experience, Roni has worked with a wide variety of clients. At this time, Roni is seeing individuals and couples.  Presenting issues include anxiety, depression, PTSD, grief and loss, relationship conflict, divorce adjustment, trauma and parenting issues.  Her approach is based on Positive Psychology and, using the latest research on happiness and well-being, she helps clients identify and focus on strengths in order to live their best lives.

Roni also has extensive experience and training in Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction and utilizes mindfulness strategies in combination with cognitive behavioral techniques, to help clients gain clarity in order to challenge unproductive thoughts and be more present in their day-to-day lives.

She has also received training in Trauma-focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as well as Gentle Reprocessing, which is an alternate treatment for trauma that incorporates bi-lateral stimulation, metaphor and some guided imagery. Using a combination of both modalities, she has helped many trauma victims resolve symptoms of PTSD.

Roni has recently been certified as a Forest Therapy Guide through the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy.  She has been integrating nature therapy in her practice and is available for guided “forest bathing” sessions.

Roni earned an undergraduate degree in Psychology from Notre Dame College and a Master's degree in Counseling Psychology from Antioch University New England. Prior to joining Capital Valley, she worked in community mental health and for a private social services agency.
