Roni is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor, with over 15 years of experience in outpatient psychotherapy. She works with a wide range of clients, from pre-teens throught geriatric individuals, as well as couples and families, on blended family issues, self-esteem, gender dysphoria, parent-child conflict, as well as trauma, anxiety and depression. She is trained in Trauma-focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and has helped many trauma victims resolve symptoms of PTSD. Roni also has extensive experience and training in Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction and combines a mindfulness-based approach with cognitive behavioral techniques, helping clients gain clarity in order to challenge unproductive thoughts and be more present in their day-to-day lives.
Roni earned an undergraduate degree in Psychology from Notre Dame College and a Master's degree in Counseling Psychology from Antioch University New England. Prior to joining Capital Valley, she worked in community mental health and for a private social services agency.
Roni enjoys working with all ages but does particulary well with teenagers and young adults who are struggling with social anxiety or problems in relationships; as well as couples needing help with thier communication. Clients appreciate her sense of humor and down-to earth style.
