Carol Karakoudas, MSW, LICSW

Carol Karakoudas is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker with twenty-six years of experience in outpatient therapy, specialized schools, residential treatment, and psychiatric partial and inpatient hospitalization programs. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Education in 1979 at the University of Massachusetts/Amherst, her Master's Degree at Boston University in 1983 and attended the Kantor Family Institute in Cambridge, MA for training in family therapy.

Carol works with children, adolescents, adults, couples and families. She specializes in cognitive behavioral therapy, gentle reprocessing, brief therapy, and solution-focused therapy. In couples therapy she offers both a family of origin perspective and a focus on relationship enhancement skills. Her philosophy of treatment is that therapy is a conversation through which the client gains insight into the meaning of his/her behavior and then devises a plan to make adaptive changes. She believes that therapy is a liberating experience that can help an individual to set goals that include gaining an appreciation for the impact of life events and learning skills to manage anxiety/depression/stress.

Carol offers appointments between noon and 6 PM, Monday through Friday, as well as Saturday afternoons.
